CABINETCNC PRODUCTION GUIDE
Cabinet Back Inset Guide

Back-panel insets control how the back is positioned relative to the cabinet opening.
Four independent edges
Top, bottom, left and right insets should be explicit because jobs do not always use one universal reveal.
Check the receiving geometry
A back that sits in a groove or rabbet may also require machining rules beyond simple finished size.
Inspect corner and tall cases
Nonstandard cabinets deserve extra attention because a generic back rule may not match every shape.
Shop rule: verify dimensions, material, tooling, work zero, hold-down and the first machine program before committing a full job to material.
